Behind every big concert and musical tour that thrills millions of fans, there is a team of professionals who handle the logistics and planning to ensure the success of these events.
One of them is Paula Andrea Leon Amaya, an industrial engineer from Barranquilla, Colombia. She studied at the Universidad del Atlantico and later specialized in logistics and supply chain management at Florida International University. Her strong academic background has enabled her to advance in her career and oversee large projects.
Leon, who is 30 years old, has quickly become an integral part of the team at CMN - Cardenas Marketing Network. This renowned event promoter has organized concerts for artists such as Marc Anthony, Luis Miguel, Daddy Yankee, and Manuel Turizo. Recently, Leon was given the opportunity to be the project manager for the highly anticipated return of Don Omar to the live stage.
"Education has been fundamental to my career. With a solid background in engineering and logistics, I face the challenges of tour and concert planning with greater confidence and preparation" she says.
León's job involves coordinating all the logistical aspects of a music tour, from transporting equipment and personnel to procuring supplies in each city. She also has to make sure that local regulations are followed and that the shows run smoothly.
"Every event is a different challenge. We have to adapt to the specific conditions and requirements of each city and venue. It's a job that requires a lot of organization, anticipation and real-time problem solving" explains León.
Leon is currently leading the logistics team for the return of Don Omar, one of the most important exponents of reggaeton. After a decade-long hiatus, the Puerto Rican artist has embarked on a tour of the United States and Latin America, filling stadiums and coliseums in several cities.
"Don Omar is a legend in Latin music. Working on his comeback tour is an honor and an incredible challenge. We worked hand in hand with the artist's team of more than 100 people to bring his show to thousands of fans in different countries" says Leon proudly.
Despite the demands and frenetic pace of her work, Leon feels fulfilled and grateful for the opportunity to use her expertise in a field that combines her passion for music and organization.
"This job has allowed me to learn from the ground up the creation and tour development of artists on a national level. It is a constant challenge, but also a very enriching experience on both a professional and personal level; it is incredible to see how all the logistical efforts translate into a memorable experience for the fans" she concludes.
Paula Andrea Leon Amaya is an example of how professional excellence can open doors in the entertainment industry. Her story shows that with passion and commitment, it is possible to achieve great things and contribute to the success of music superstars.
